The countdown has begun to the second edition of a new West Clare festival dubbed a “mini Willie Clancy Week”.
Joanie Madden’s inaugural May Day Festival in Miltown Malbay, which took place last weekend, is being hailed as a resounding success.

The four-day programme of events included concerts, sessions, set dancing and workshops, with performances from the likes of Cherish the Ladies, Four Men and a Dog, and Don Stiffe, Ger O’Donnell and Trevor Sexton.
Joanie, whose mother is from Miltown Malbay, says the atmosphere in the town far exceeded anything the committee could’ve imagined.
