Council To Consult Public On Blake’s Corner Plans

A public consultation process is to take place over how to deal with  Blake's Corner in Ennistymon.

The infamous traffic blackspot has been the subject of controversy in recent months – after Clare County Council announced plans to construct a new road in the town, putting the future of at least two homes and a business in doubt.

This led to anger in the North Clare town, where many have called for the derelict Blake’s and Linnane’s buildings to be removed instead.

The Council’s public consultation process is set to take place from May, and will include a public event in Ennistymon where engineers and consultants will be on hand.

The Council is encouraging members of the community to take part in the both the open event and in putting together a written submission on Blake's Corner.
