Council Meeting Postponed To Respect Late Clare And Ennis Mayor

Clare’s elected representatives have postponed the first meeting of the new term of the council as a mark of respect to a former county and Ennis mayor.

Fianna Fáil’s Peter Considine died last month, just a day after the local elections, with tributes flooding in from all parties and none in Clare.

He had retired from politics ahead of the 2014 local elections, having served for some 41 years as a local representative.

Lissycasey Fianna Fáil Councillor PJ Kelly, who served alongside Peter for many years, has been reflecting on his legacy.
