Clare County Council claims there’s “consensus” among stakeholders in this county on how housing delivery can be progressed.
The local authority held a Housing Summit in late May with other 70 stakeholders including developers, financial institutions, elected members, agents, utility providers and approved housing bodies.
Attendees of the meeting spoke of infrastructure constraints such as wastewater treatment, electricity connection delays, ineffective investment and the need for stronger public sector leadership.
Clare County Council Senior Executive Officer with responsibility for Housing Activation and Delivery, Sinéad O’Donoghue, believes it was an “innovative” way to examine the problems with housing here.
