The CEO of Clare County Council is calling on the Midwest’s three local authorities to work together to maximise the benefits of the National Planning Framework.
The newly established Clare Economic Advisory Group has expressed concern that the government’s development plan, which runs until 2040, will undermine this county in its current form.
They’re calling for further promotion of Shannon Airport as an international hub, the development of the Clare campus of the University of Limerick and more to be done for rural Ireland.
Pat Dowling, who chairs the group, says the only way benefits will be seen here is if the three local authorities in Clare, Limerick and Tipperary work together:
