Clare senator Martin Conway has criticised the National lottery for operating and promoting an online gambling facility on its website.

The North Clare representative has questioned the governments role in promoting online betting following its decision to turn-down an ambitious Las Vegas style casino which was planned for Tipperray.
Senator Conway feels Ireland has more to offer tourists with its landscapes and natural resources than trying to entice gamblers to the country.
He believes that new proposed legislation to tighten betting and gambling laws need to be introduced quickly
