Shannon representatives say they’re confident the airport will be declared debt-free under it’s new operational guidelines.
It comes as Transport Minister Leo Varadkar prepares to publish the report from Booz and Company which has outlined the various options for the future operation of Shannon – he will then announce a decision by Easter.

Shannon is expected to remain under state control, but the authority of the DAA is to be reduced. There have been claims that this could lead to a reduction in funding and potential job losses.
However, local Fine Gael Councillor Sean McLoughlin says assurances have been given that Shannon’s finances will be given a shot in the arm.
