A North Clare man goes on trial at the Central Criminal Court today accused of the murder of Ballyvaughan woman Deirdre McCarthy.

Father of two Colm Deely of School Road, Ballyvaughan has pleaded not guilty to murdering the 43 year old guest house worker at a place unknown in Clare on or about the 28th of March 2011.
A jury was sworn in yesterday to hear the case which will get underway before Mr Justice Barry White at the at the Criminal Courts Complex in Dublin later this morning.
