It’s claimed hundreds of future jobs and rural tourism projects in Clare are in jeopardy due to an underfunded programme.
As part of the Common Agriculture Policy, the Leader Scheme has been investing in local and rural economic initiatives since 1991.

It’s understood, however, that funding could be cut under their new CAP for 2028 to 2034 that the EU is still due to sign off on.
Speaking at the Oireachtas Agriculture Committee Clare Local Development Company CEO Doirín Graham says several key initiatives in this county are at risk.
