Clare TD Insists Fianna Fáil Reset Needed Over Christmas

A Clare Fianna Fáil TD insists his party needs to move on from the Jim Gavin controversy and reset over Christmas.

It follows a tense, five-hour meeting between the Taoiseach, TDs and Senators last night, during which a review into the party’s failed presidential campaign was discussed.

That report found unsuccessful candidate Jim Gavin was asked five times about a past issue with a tenant, which ultimately derailed his run for the Aras.

Meelick Fianna Fáil TD Cathal Crowe says there’s a lot of hurt and anger across the party, but remains supportive of the Taoiseach and insists the party needs to get back to dealing with policy in the new year.
