A Clare Special Needs Assistant is giving a cautious welcome to a new government guidelines updating their role in the classroom.
The latest Department of Education Circular released this week states the primary responsibility of SNAs is to provide adult support to enable students to successfully attend, participate and reach their full potential.

It replaces a previous document , which unions argue would’ve restricted the role of SNAs and led to students missing out on vital supports.
