A Clare Garda Sergeant believes interagency cooperation is key to resolving anti-social behaviour in the Ennis area.
At this month’s meeting of the Ennis Municipal District, there were fresh calls for the county’s Joint Policing Committee to establish a sub-committee, in light of public concern over increased anti-social or criminal activity in the county town.
Speaking at the meeting, Ennis Gardaí said while they don’t believe a sub-committee is the answer, they would be open to meeting with local representatives every six months to discuss crime prevention in the region.
Sergeant Catriona Holohan, from Clare’s Crime Prevention Office says agencies working together to prevent anti-social behaviour from happening in the first place, can lead to positive outcomes.
