A Clare Senator claims national retrofitting targets are being curtailed by unnecessary barriers facing tradespeople and apprentices.
Last year, the SEAI part funded domestic upgrades, which brought 242 properties in Clare alone up to a B2 Building Energy Rating.
However, the comptroller and auditor general’s report which has just been published, shows that 49% of all inspected works were found to be non-compliant with quality assurance and health and safety standards.
