The Clare Samaritans are appealing for volunteers to help people struggling their mental health.
It comes as this Sunday marks the 20th annual World Suicide Prevention Day with the theme for this year’s event being Creating Hope through Action.

The most recent statistics from the Central Statistics Office has found that 465 people died by suicide in 2020 of which 338 people were male and 127 were female.
Director of Clare Samaritans and Newmarket-on-Fergus native, Margaret McMahon, says reaching out to someone is as simple as asking if they are okay.
