Clare has seen the second largest fall in planning applications of any county so far this year.

The number of requests for planning permission fell by 27% here between January and April, when compared with the same time last year, even though Ireland as a whole saw a 19% increase.
However, a report by Link2Plans, based on the National Housing Construction Index, has found a near 200% increase in the number of construction projects started in the county this year.
