A Clare Ocean Conservationist has strongly criticised media coverage of a shark bite incident off the South Coast of Ireland this week.
Sebastian Achim was angling for sharks for research purposes of the coast of Waterford on Tuesday, when a Blue Shark his crew had caught lunged at his calf while on board.

Sebastian has since stated “the shark was in the right as it was taken out if its habitat and was in survival mode.”
Lahinch-based Documentary Maker Ken O’Sullivan says describing the incident as an attack is not only disingenuous, but harmful.
