Men throughout County Clare have been urged not to delay in seeking medical treatment, should they have fears for their health.
The call from the Mayor of Clare comes during ‘Blue Semptember’, a global initiative to encourage men to face up to cancer.

Councillor Pat Hayes was diagnosed with bowel cancer last May but the tumour was subsequently successfully removed and he required no follow up treatment as the cancer hadn’t spread into surrounding cells.
It was the second medical scare he had suffered in a short period of time – he had suffered a Heart Attack in August of 2009 and had a stent fitted.
