Figures released by Clare County Council show that 92 rescues were carried out by Clare’s lifeguards, with almost 11,000 potential accidents prevented at the county’s 11 life-guarded beaches between June and August.
Lifeguard cover finished at the end of the summer season last Sunday and Water Safety Officer with Clare County Council, Clare McGrath says a high number of lives have been saved.
