The Clare Immigrant Support Centre believes newly-proposed legislation would cause undue stress to those seeking asylum in Ireland.
The Government is bringing a bill to cabinet tomorrow which would include new restrictions around immigration including that those granted refugee status wouldn’t be allowed to bring immediate family members to Ireland for three years.
The move has been criticised by the Irish Refugee Council while Social Democrats Justice Spokesperson Gary Gannon has branded it an “absolute shambles”.
