The Chair of the Clare branch of the IFA says it’s ‘difficult to comprehend’ the impact the Mercusor trade deal would have if fully implemented in the new year.
The trade agreement would see up to 99,000 tonnes of beef exported into the EU along with over 180,000 tonnes of poultry.

Feakle Farmer Stephen Walsh says the EU shouldn’t sacrifice the bloc’s high food standards for the opportunity to export German cars to South America.
He believes the deal will greatly effect rural towns in the county.
