Clare householders are being urged to be "that bit more vigilant" about fire safety over the festive season.
In the past few years, the the county’s firefighters have attended numerous incidents over Christmas from house and chimney fires to smaller blazes due to faulty lights or unattended candles .

Stastics show that 80 percent of fire deaths occour in the home and 3 people lives were lost here in the past 12 months, up from 1 in 2010.
