Clare Gardaí are warning homeowners to lock up and light up amid a surge in reported burglaries during warm weather spells.
Gardaí say perpetrators are most often taken devices such as laptops, mobile phones tools and bicycles after walking through unlocked doors or gaining access through open windows.

People are also being urged to keep mail with a trusted neighbour while on holiday, keep a light on in the home and not to post about vacation activities on social media.
Sergeant Edel Burke says Gardaí can patrol homes if they know they’ll be unoccupied.
