Clare Gardaí are advising the public to be aware of bogus callers purporting to be tradesmen or service providers.
The culprits usually call to homes of vulnerable people, usually pensioners or those living alone.

The perpetrators will often attempt to convince their victim that repairs or works need to be carried out at their residence.
Sergeant Deirdre O’Doherty is advising people not to employ cold callers at your door and to ask for documentation.
She says you should not hesitate to contact local Gardaí if you suspect bogus callers or tradespeople.
