The Agriculture Minister has called for Clare County Council and other local authorities along the West coast to use joined up thinking in order to boost tourism numbers.

Failte Ireland is developing a concept, entitled the ‘Wild Atlantic Way’, which will provide a guided touring route from Donegal to Cork, attracting tourists to key destinations.

The National Tourism Agency says that local authorities along the western seaboard are supportive of the project, while Minister Simon Coveney has also expressed his confidence that it will allow for Ireland to be marketed to international markets
