A Clare-based speech therapist has described lengthy wait times for young children seeking speech and language therapy as unacceptable.
There are nearly 1,900 children in Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary waiting for an initial assessment, 170 of those for more than one year and 60 for more than two years.

An additional 735 children have been assessed but are still awaiting their first therapy session.
