Nine agricultural shows in Clare are to receive a welcome boost.
63,000 euro in Government funding has been granted for the county by the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring as part of a national allocation benefitting 120 agricultural shows throughout the country.
The Clarecastle, Corofin, Ennistymon, Kildysart, Kilrush, Mullagh, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Bridgetown and Scariff shows will each benefit from a 7,000 euro cash injection in 2018.
The announcement has been welcomed by the Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Rural and Community Affairs, Clare TD, Joe Carey, who says the funding takes the shows’ struggle of recent years into account.
