Pensioners living in and around Corofin have been given a reprieve, in spite of the closure last night of the post office in the North Clare village.

Clare Accessible Transport has confirmed it will run a service from Corofin to Kilfenora each Saturday, allowing people to collect their pensions and carry out any other necessary business.
The service has to be pre-booked, but will come as a much needed boost for those who had been collecting welfare payments in Corofin, and now face having to travel to Kilfenora to continue this service.
Speaking in the Seanad last evening, North Clare Senator Martin Conway argued that An Post should provide midweek services also
