The Deputy Leader of the Green Party claims that without immediate action, Clare in particular, remains incredibly vulnerable to changing climate patterns.
The Climate Change Advisory Council has this week recommended the Government invest heavily in infrastructure to make the country more resilient for future named storms.
The setting up of a climate damage register and observation system to note the impact of extreme weather events has also been advised.
Speaking on Clare FM’s Morning Focus, former Senator, Inagh native Roisin Garvey, says focus needs to be shifted to protecting people and their livelihoods, rather than attributing blame for the climate crisis.
