It’s claimed bed capacity and staff shortage issues facing University Hospital Limerick must be addressed in tandem to turn things around there.
TDs from across the Midwest – including Clare’s Independent TD Dr Michael Harty – have raised the issue in the Dáil, following a turbulent week for the Dooradoyle facility.
A record-equalling 81 were left waiting on trolleys there on Monday, while 80 remained in that position a day later.
