There are calls in Clare for more disabled parking spaces to be put in place and for harsher fines for able-bodied people parking in disabled spots.
The problem is said to be country-wide and it’s also claimed that family members of disabled people are using their blue ticket to take up accessible spaces.

It’s leading to fresh concern about the impact on disabled drivers, who are unable to park anywhere else.
Inagh-based wheelchair user Margaret Kinnane says though there may be no malice behind it, those responsible need to realise the impact it has on others.
