Uisce Éireann is working to repair a burst watermain which has left a large area of Ennis town and surrounding areas without water.
Customers in part of Ennis and along the Tulla Road as far as Spancilhill have contacted Clare FM reported a loss of supply since early morning.
The outage is affecting not just households but a number of businesses also.
Uisce Éireann has confirmed that repairs to a burst water main may cause supply disruptions to Spancil Hill, Tulla Road, Ennis and surrounding areas in Co. Clare.
Works are scheduled to take place until 4pm today. A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works.
A spokesperson confirmed: “We recommend that you allow 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return.”
