The Burren’s unique farming traditions and cultural heritage will be celebrated later this month.
Burrenbeo Trust’s annual Winterage Weekend returns on Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th, with the Cattle Drive in Fanore among the highlights, as local farmers move their cattle to winter pastures.

The weekend programme includes walks, talks, live music, the Burren Food Fayre and a range of events celebrating local farming, conservation and the landscape.
The Winterage tradition, which sees cattle graze the limestone uplands during winter, is recognised as part of Ireland’s Intangible Cultural Heritage and Burren farmer Michael Davoran says the festival is an opportunity to celebrate that tradition:
