Clare’s Junior Minister has been given fresh assurances by the Health Minister that a 60-bed modular unit to alleviate overcrowding at the region’s main hospital WILL go ahead as planned.
In November, Minister Simon Harris said that €19.5 million was available for the construction of a 60-bed modular unit at University Hospital Limerick.

But concern has been raised in Clare in recent weeks that the massive overrun in the cost of the National Children’s Hospital would impact on it.
That project is seen as key in tackling overcrowding there and Fine Gael’s Pat Breen says the doubts raised about its future in certain quarters have been unhelpful:
