An East Clare Councillor has described as “outrageous and unbelievable” the theft of tools for sale on the black market.
Joe Cooney is commenting in light of a Prime Time investigation, which examined the theft of tools from tradesmen and business owners around the country, some of whom say they’re been forced out of business because of it.

Gardaí believe the thefts involve an international network of criminals who sell on the goods at knock-down prices.
Fine Gael Councillor Joe Cooney, who’s also a trades person was a victim of this type of crime – he says it’s disappointing to think that there is a market for stolen goods.
