An appeal has been lodged with An Bord Pleanala in relation to the construction of a solar farm near Cratloe.
Terra Solar had sought to construct the facility at Ballymorris, but their plans were opposed by a number of local residents.
Terra Solar are looking to construct Clare's first solar farm on a 12.2 hectare site at Ballymorris, Cratloe, on lands owned by Bryan Ryan.
A planning application was lodged with Clare County Council in April, for what was expected to mark the first part of the company's planned 30 million euro investment at a number of sites in the county.
The application was met with seven objections, but planning was granted by the Council in late October.
Now, however, the project has been appealed to An Bord Pleanala by local residents Laurence and Siobhan Boyce.
They were among those who had initially opposed the project, and expressed concerns that the project would be close to their home and farm and suggested that it was not compatible with the rural area.
An Bord Pleanala is expected to make a decision by April.
