Questions have been raised about the recognition of county boundaries after an official government document wrongly identified Shannon as being in Limerick.
Local resident Pádraig Langsch has voiced concern after his mother’s renewed driver’s licence listed her address as “Tullyvarraga, Shannon, Limerick”.
Anger has previously been expressed locally after a Ryanair flight from London Gatwick Airport that was scheduled to land at Shannon Airport was mistakenly shown on Gatwick’s departure boards and website as going to “Limerick.”
Pádraig believes county boundaries should be respected and says action is needed now to prevent similar confusion in the future.
