Almost €40,000 Drop In Clare House Prices In November

The average price of a home in Clare fell by almost €40,000 towards the end of last year.

New CSO figures show there was a significant decline in housing transactions in this county in November.

According to the Residential Property Price Index for November, the average selling price for a home in this county was €317,000 marking a drop of over €39,000 from the sum of €356,083 recorded in October.

The number of transactions is the next point of disparity, with significantly fewer occurring towards the tale end of last year with 46 in November altogether.

36 of these were in the Ennis Eircode Area, where the average price of a home during the month was €322,500.

In the county town just one in four homes purchased went to first time buyers.

There were only four sales in the Kilrush area, with just one going to a new homeowner and here the avergae price of a property was €334,625 , a monthly drop of €81,000.

In the Shannon catchment area, six homes were sold and here the average selling price was €294,167, down a sizeable €40,000 on October’s month.
