Almost 6,000 Clare Farmers Apply For Basic Income Support For Sustainability

Almost 6,000 Clare farmers have applied for a scheme that provides income support to those farming sustainably.

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine has confirmed that 122,151 farmers have applied for the Basic Income Support for Sustainability and other area-based schemes before the May 15th deadline.

A total of 5,807 farmers have applied in Clare – down slightly on 5,893 last year.

The application includes the like of the Eco Scheme, Complementary Redistribution Income Support for Sustainability and Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers.
