The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is at it’s highest level in almost a month.
The latest INMO figures show 71 people were waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 48 of those in the emergency department.

The overall figure is 20 more than the next busiest facility, Cork University Hospital, and comes on a day when 259 people were waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
Meanwhile, the HSE’s own TrolleyGAR system shows only 33 people on trolleys at Dooradoyle.
