66 On Trolleys At UHL

There has been a slight drop in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital, though University Hospital Limerick remains the busiest in the country.

The latest INMO figures show 66 patients were waiting for beds there this morning, 41 of those on trolleys in the emergency department.

The overall figure is 21 higher than the next busiest facility.

The UL Hospitals group is asking people who need treatment to consider the Local Injury Unit in Ennis, which is open until 8pm, instead of going directly to Dooradoyle.
