63 staff at a major insurance company in Shannon have been told their jobs could be at risk today – and 29 of them will face redundancy in the coming weeks.
Genworth Financial provides Mortgage Insurance and Lifestyle Protection and employs 442 people in the Shannon Free Zone.

The company has confirmed to Clare FM that 29 jobs are to go due to falling revenues and slow growth in a number of European Markets, but as many staff work in similar roles, 63 people were told their jobs are at risk.
Consultation to establish who goes is underway, but Genworth Ireland Spokesman Guy Genney says the company is committed to its Shannon base.
