Last night, Ibec said it wouldn’t meet ICTU at the Labour Court today as originally agreed, as it believed the invitation was being used to encourage a vote for strike action in some stores.
The retailer says the results of the ballot mean there’s an onus on the union to call-off the strike.
But Mandate General Secretary John Douglas says they’ve a lot of support and they won’t be drawn into Tesco’s “mind games”.
