A Garda investigation is underway into a serious assault and suspected possession of weapons in a residential area of Ennis.
One person has been hospitalised following the incident involving a number of people yesterday afternoon.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in the Clancy Park area of Ennis.
A number of people were involved in an altercation between 1.45pm and 2.45pm yesterday afternoon.
A man in his 30s sustained significant injuries and was subsequently taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
Gardaí have carried out follow-up searches, although no weapons have been seized and no arrests have yet been made.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have observed the incident or road users travelling in the area at the time who may who may have camera or dash cam footage to come forward.
Meanwhile Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information about an assault in the Templegate Carpark on Sunday, July 5th, the night of Clare’s All-Ireland Semi Final against Limerick.
A number of people were involved in an altercation, during which one person was injured.
