Ennis based FASD Hub Ireland Secures Government Funding On One Year Birthday

An Ennis based support service is to receive a significant government funding boost.

The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth has allocated funding for Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Hub Ireland, which is also marking the first birthday of its telephone helpline service.

The support service provides consultations for people living with FASD, or couples worried about the effects to a baby’s developing brain and body from prenatal exposure to alcohol.

 

CEO of FASD Ireland, Tristan Casson Rennie, says they plan on expanding their headquarters in Ennis significantly in the coming years.
