Calls have been made for the introduction of a €50,000 grant for those building one off houses in Clare.
At this month’s meeting of the Local Authority, Councillor PJ Kelly cited concerns over the significant planning and VAT costs associated with the construction of new dwellings.
Government schemes are currently in place to support the renovation of derelict and vacant properties for residential use.
