The Afternoon Show – Wednesday October 3rd 2012

Joining Clare FM’s Gavin Grace on The Afternoon Show today was Bob Schumacher, Managing Director of Sales in the U.K. & Ireland for United Airlines. It comes as United Airlines will inaugurate a five-times-weekly non-stop service between Shannon and its Chicago hub, O’Hare International Airport, during the period Jun. 7 to Aug. 27, 2013 (both dates westbound), subject to government approval.  The move is seen as a boost to the Mid West Airport and will allow better access for The Gathering in 2013.

Beverly Thomas is the Managing Editor of the Cambrian News in Wales.  She spoke to Gavin about the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of April Jones. Police in Wales are continuing to question a 46 year old man about the abduction of the five year old, who was last seen getting into a van in Machynlleth on Monday evening. April’s parents have released a statement begging for the information that will bring her home while Police are warning volunteers in the search for April Jones of the "challenging conditions" facing rescue teams.
