HSE Management are warning of delays and disruption to local health services in Clare in the coming weeks as the full impacts of public sector retirements and major budget cuts are felt
683 staff are leaving the HSE West area by February 29th, but as well as stretched resources in our hospitals, the effects will also be felt in Community services and the areas of public health nursing, disability and mental health
The HSE’s  Area Manager for the Mid-West has told Clare FM that elderly care services will be mostly unaffected in Clare, confirming recent assurances on community hospitals in Ennistymon, Kilrush, Ennis and Tuamgraney
On Wednesday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with Bernard Gloster, Area Manager with responsibility for Primary Community and Continuing Care in the HSE Midwest
With 120 people retiring in the area of Primary, Community and Continuing Care, and budget cuts of 50 million euro, Bernard admited there will be some inconvenience.

The Irish Road Hauliers Assocation has welcomed the response received from Minister Noonan following high level talks which took place last week
The Minister for Finance has established a high level working group comprising of the IRHA, Department of Finance officials and select Government TD’s in order to find a workable solution to the current fuel crisis which is affecting Irish industry, exports and ultimately jobs
Bunratty based Eoin Gavin, President of the IRHA, explained that it is envisaged industry concerns relating to fuel laundering will also be addressed.

Kieran has worked since he left school with Dublin Airport Authority (28 years).  Apart from inhouse training and some FAS training in 2006, this is Kieran first time back in Education since he left school in 1981

Martin Cunningham from Cree returned as an adult to complete 4 Leaving Certificate subjects in the West Clare Adult Learning Centre in Kilrush
Martin has been a farmer all his life and is now looking at qualifying in a different area and going on to Third Level Education
He is using the Leaving Certificate as a foundation to build on and get back in to the habit of studying and learning
