After that, Gavin spoke to Neil Garvey, CEO of Muintir na Tíre, and Jim Connolly, Kilbaha-resident and founder of Rural Resettlement Ireland. They discussed the impact of severe weather on rural communities, and Jim spoke about his memories of the big freeze in 1982.

Next, Amy Forde, News Correspondent at the Irish Farmers Journal, gave advice for farmers and rural dwellers braving the cold snap.

Then, Gavin and John Cullinane, chair person of SVP in Clare, remembered the elderly and vulnerable during these weather conditions.
