Tubber Jockey and Cheltenham Champion Derek O’Connor broke his leg nearly four weeks ago and was told he would be out of commission for 12 weeks. He is devastated to be missing out on Cheltenham this year but he hopes to be back in the saddle in five weeks.

Cheltenham 2011 will be remembered for many Irish victories, but for County Clare horse-racing fans – Derek O’Connor stole the show with wins on "Chicago Grey" in the National Hunt Chase and "Zemsky" in the Christie’s Foxhunter Chase
The 29 year old Point to Point Jockey last spoke to us last year following an unforgettable week at Cheltenham and some very memorable home-coming celebrations in Tubber.
