Morning Focus – Tuesday July 21st 2015

On Tuesday's edition of Morning Focus with Marian Egan

Clare County Council has given the go-ahead for a new supermarket to be built in Ennistymon. The project is to proceed on the site of the current Ennistymon Mart, in spite of some local objections. Aldi Stores Ireland Ltd. had sought permission to develop the store, along with associated works such as a car park, at the site of Ennistymon Mart. The application was also the subject of eight objections, including one from a group called the Save Ennistymon Mart Committee. However, the Council has now given the project the green light, and attached 21 conditions including some which limit the hours in which the store can operate. Pat O’Donoghue Former Chairman, Ennistymon IFA- Chair of the Save Ennistymon Mart, Tom Clair  Former Vice Chairman of Ennistymon IFA & Local Farmer / Ennistymon Mart and Flan Garvey Former Mayor of Clare all gave their reaction to Marian.
